  2. Using a mesh, strain the contents of the jar to separate the solid butter and the liquid buttermilk. This can be done by using a cheesecloth dipped in ice water and wriggled. Press the solids properly in a cold bowl with the help of a cold spoon. The results will be good.
  3. Place the newly formed lump of butter in a container to make it firm or by just wrapping it in a plastic wrap or waxed paper. The wrappings should be airtight.
  4. Place it in the refrigerator and conserve it until needed. Keeping it refrigerated will make it last longer.
