I call my canine a hungry investigator as it keeps its mouth in every caddy and keeps searching for things all day. It’s so naughty that I am too frightened to leave him to play. Last month while playing, he ingested something and then started feeling uneasy, and going to a vet at that hour was quite hopeless as I was veritably far but somehow got in touch with my vet. With him on call, I used some ways and eventually made my canine throw up; that’s when I started exploring how to make the canine throw up and felt this would be helpful for someone else.

When To Make Your Dog Vomit
If your dog has eaten anything harmful in the previous two hours, don’t worry. Being a pet parent is never that easy. Knowing a few methods to make your dog throw up is better.
To eliminate poisons from your dog’s system, induce Vomiting within two to three hours after the dog swallows any harmful things as it will not cause any further harm to your pet. If you can make your dog puke within 30 minutes, you can eliminate up to 50% of the poisons he ate. So, it’s best to get it done as soon as it swallows. This formula can work if you want your dog who ate chocolate or even your favorite sock to throw up.
3% Hydrogen Peroxide Solution
If your dog has consumed any poison or harmful substances, forcing him to vomit is a suggested line of action. A technique that is advised is the use of hydrogen peroxide.
If your dog has eaten anything foreign, don’t panic. First, contact your veterinarian, and if that’s not feasible, follow the thumb rule. 1 teaspoon per 5 pounds or 10 pounds of dog body weight given orally. It’s critical to remember that you should never give your dog more than 3 tablespoons of the solution.

So, initially, offer your dog some snacks or food to encourage him to vomit on his own.
You may make it puke by giving it a teaspoon of three percent hydrogen peroxide solution. Anything greater than that is not recommended since larger quantities can harm your dog.
After administering the prescribed amount of hydrogen peroxide, take the dog for a short walk.
The hydrogen peroxide irritates the dog’s digestive tract, causing him to puke.
It will be simpler if the dog has eaten beforehand since this will “bulk up” the stomach contents and give it something solid to come up with. It should vomit within 10 to 30 minutes.

Second Dose
If your dog does not vomit within thirty minutes, give him another dosage of hydrogen peroxide. If he still hasn’t vomited after a second dosage, take him to the veterinarian. A stronger medicine will be required, which the doctor will administer through injection.

Aftercare
Some dogs might have diarrhea or become lethargic for a few days.

When You Shouldn’t Make Your Dog Vomit

What if it Bites
If your dog is already unhappy and grumpy, and if he is now not at ease with his mouth being dealt with, he may bite, so be cautious and go to the hospital in such circumstances.
Brachycephalic Dog
Brachycephalic dogs are with short nose. There is a significant risk of aspiration pneumonia in brachycephalic dog breeds, which are dogs with shorter noses (think pugs). When your dog inhales toxic substances into their lungs, they develop aspiration pneumonia. While your dog may be vomiting effectively, it may have ingested hazardous materials that might be harmful.

- Consider it an emergency if your dog ate rat poison. It may be fatal to your dog so rush him to the hospital.
- If your dog has ingested something and you noticed it after three or four hours, then consider that is on its way out so there is no point in inducing Vomiting in him. Or it may require emergency medical treatment.
- Vomiting can also be dangerous for pups under some circumstances. If your dog is suffering a seizure, take him to the veterinarian as soon as possible—do not try to make him vomit.
Fungus
Dogs sniff everything, and if it feels consumable, they consume it immediately. Some poisonous mushrooms are very risky and fatal for them. Suppose you suspect your dog has consumed a fungus or a poisonous mushroom. In that case, you can notice excessive salivation after consuming it, damage to the liver, blindness, confusion, coma, and sometimes they exhibit abdominal pain or extreme gastrointestinal symptoms.
